Email Lead / Email Marketing Manager

Role Overview
Our client is are looking for an experienced Email Lead to take ownership of email marketing execution, ensuring seamless campaign build and broadcast using the Adestra platform. This role is key in delivering high-quality, engaging, and effective email communications for your clients.
We need someone who is first and foremost a team player as working closely with the account management team on the successful delivery of client campaigns (although this is not a client services role).
These major flagship clients work at pace, with a large number of campaigns delivered on a weekly and monthly basis so we are looking for someone who is used to working at a dynamic pace, can think on your feet, and is comfortable troubleshooting all whilst delivering on target. This is a close-knit team and everyone has a voice so our client want someone who comes with their own ideas as to best practise, processes, ideas to help shape how we can drive the growth of the account.
The clients rely on you to drive and push them forward and as a team we are instrumental in doing this. The successful candidate should also be able to multitask successfully, be used to prioritising workloads as this is a key attribute of anyone joining the team
Key Responsibilities
• Build, test, and deploy email campaigns using Adestra. We are looking for an Email delivery guru!
• Manage audience segmentation, personalisation, and dynamic content to enhance engagement.
• Ensure email templates are responsive, accessible, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Conduct A/B testing to optimise email performance.
• Monitor deliverability, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage suppression lists.
• Collaborate with art directors, copywriters, and account teams to ensure campaigns meet strategic objectives.
• Analyse email performance metrics (open rates, CTR, conversions) and generate reports with insights for optimisation, whilst sharing these in a clear and concise way for team members who are less email centric.
• Stay up to date with email marketing trends, GDPR compliance, and best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience in email marketing and campaign execution, preferably within an agency setting - client side will be considered
• Proficiency in Adestra (or similar ESPs), with a strong understanding of email workflows, automation, and data management.
• Email coding - with good knowledge and understanding of using tables to build emails
• Basic HTML, CSS and Media Queries skills for email template customisation.
• Understand the differences between coding for web and coding for email
• Experience with segmentation, personalisation, and A/B testing.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and suggest improvements.
• Familiarity with GDPR and email compliance best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Awareness of Litmus (or similar) for ensuring email renders correctly.
Additional Responsibilities
• Automation & Journeys: Setting up and optimising automated email journeys.
• Database Management: Overseeing data hygiene, list management, and integrations with CRM systems.
• Deliverability & Compliance Oversight: Monitoring email reputation, managing blacklists, and ensuring high deliverability rates.

Ideally you will be happy to be in the Edinburgh office 2/3 days per week but will consider someone who is comfortable to work remotely.
Salary is purely dependent on skills & experience with a range of £33,000 - £43,000.
