Job summary
The Loughborough Renal Unit is looking for an exceptional individual who is passionate about nursing and delivering care. You will be part of a nursing team providing haemodialysis treatment to 75 patients in Loughborough Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with a positive and proactive attitude, and have an ability to work in a team or independently. We are looking for an individual who has the desire to deliver a high standard of care to patients and would like an opportunity to develop their skills within a renal speciality.
Previous experience in Renal/Haemodialysis is desirable but not essential as full in-house training and support will be given. The team you will be joining is dedicated to the training of both staff and patients.
The management team is highly supportive and visible within the unit.
The unit is open from 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday. The staff work a mixture of 10 and 7.5 hour shifts within these times.

* Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based nursing care to a group of patients.
* Assisting and contributing in the management and organisation of a haemodialysis unit/clinical area.
* Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.
* Actively participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
* Act as a clinical and professional role model.
* Assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area.
* Work collaboratively and co-operatively with the multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients and their families.

Job description Job responsibilities
* Perform comprehensive assessments of patient nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs.
* Take responsibility for the care needs of individual and groups of patients.
* Collect, collate and fully accurately report patient information, maintaining accurate complete and contemporaneous nursing records.

Experience
Essential:
* Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the grade applied for. Experience will be dependent on the post/ward requirements at the time of recruitment.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in renal/haemodialysis nursing.
Training and qualifications
Essential:
* UK NMC registration- with NMC PIN.
Desirable:
* Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery.
Clinical Skills, Knowledge and Ability
Essential:
* Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust's Values and Behaviours.
Desirable:
* Understands the importance of team working and their role within the Multi Disciplinary team.
