Why join us
Joining Sainsbury's Tech means being part of a 150-year-old retail chain that is undergoing a transformative journey towards embracing innovation and agility. As a Product Manager, you have the unique opportunity to contribute to driving change and pushing boundaries, as we invest in creating amazing systems and in our technologies. Your work will impact both our colleagues and customers, creating incredible experiences and shaping the future of retail technology. Welcome to the home of Sainsbury's Tech, where you can be part of our collective journey and make a meaningful difference.
What you'll do
As a Product Manager in Hardware & Devices at Sainsbury’s Tech, you’ll support delivery of our overall strategy: to make good food joyful, accessible, and affordable for everyone. Through the management of our in-store hardware and devices you’ll support us in delivering exceptional customer experiences and power our colleagues in their roles across Sainsbury’s and Argos stores.
You’ll work with a wide range of teams across the business, including engineering, delivery, design, procurement, and business stakeholders, to understand and define requirements, support decisions backed by knowledge, evidence and data, manage trials, build on device capabilities, progress product roadmaps, and work with third-party suppliers in supporting procurement processes, to secure the best hardware solutions for our retail colleagues and stores. You’ll balance and prioritise several initiatives at various stages of the product lifecycle, using waterfall methodology to deliver, whilst applying an agile approach where possible. In this role, you’ll make a real difference to the technology that up to 150,000 colleagues use day-to-day as well as millions of our valued customers.
We are looking for two brilliant Product Managers to join our Hardware & Devices team within Sainsbury’s Tech. Whilst the roles can sometimes be flexible, we expect one role to focus on empowering our colleague in their daily tasks, through the selection and management of handsets, headsets, tablets, phones, printers, PCs and scales; whilst the other role focuses on customer-facing devices such as Smartshop devices, checkout printers and screens.
Who you are
You will need to be confident and focused. In a role of various demands, being able to prioritise, communicate, and manage your stakeholders effectively is crucial. Strong collaborative and organisational skills, and the ability to analyse and solve problems logically are also important.
You’ll be expected to immerse yourself in the colleague experience and maintain a close understanding of our stores and their operations. This could include regular visits to stores local to you.
In return, you'll enjoy benefits like colleague discounts, holiday allowance, bonuses, pension plan, and access to special offers. We promote flexible working and job share arrangements at Sainsbury’s Tech, and we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.
