Job overview
The post-holder will be an integral part of the urology team, working closely with the wider MDT. Specifically responsible for the coordination and care of uro-oncology patients, providing specialist expertise and support.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities:
* Coordination of care for own caseload of uro-oncology patients.
* Nurse-led bladder instillation.
* Adherence to 28/62-day targets.
* Support the rapid diagnostic pathways.
* Review of investigations and appropriate action depending on results.
* Review of patients independently, advising on care and treatment in line with protocols.
* Liaison with and referral to specialist centres.
* Excellent communication and support of patients and families/carers in situations that can be emotionally challenging.
* Effective communication with other team members.
* Provide specialist advice and clinical practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This post is ideally suited to a nursing professional with experience of urological nursing and the care of urology patients with a suspected or proven cancer diagnosis. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the patients' journey from investigation through to diagnosis, treatment, and beyond in accordance with national, regional, and local guidelines, standards, and protocols. The successful candidate will demonstrate the required skills and knowledge and will need to be motivated and enthusiastic to develop and maintain their own skills. This will ensure that the most positive outcomes for patients are achieved.
