Moreover, we continue to lead our industry in terms of standards and safety. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Whittlesey team in the position of Fitter. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of site machinery, as well as the safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment that you will be trained to use whilst being focused and committed to achieve our goals in delivering excellent quality and customer service Your duties would include but not limited to the following: Assist management in the planning, co-ordination and implementation of maintenance activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Assist site management in the implementation of H&S, Environmental, Quality aspects of the operation to meet and/or exceed legislative requirements and Company standards. Actively support and participate in the development and improvement of the Sustainability performance of sites. Ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed to high standard to protect company assets. Ensure that where possible, the manufacturers’ guidance and maintenance procedures are followed. Liaise regularly with management and other site departments to ensure we maximise site performance. Undertake any relevant training as requested. About You We are looking for a flexible self-starter, with good all-round mechanical and fitting skills. Experience in building materials or precast concrete manufacturing/machinery environment would be ideal, but not essential. The role requires a good experience and knowledge in welding and gas cutting required in fabricating and repair maintenance. Experience in mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields would be ideal. All Maintenance and other tasks need to be performed in a safe manner. All company Health & Safety procedures are always to be adhered to, to ensure compliance with legalisation and law. (Risk assessments, Safe system of work, Permits, etc.) All maintenance tasks need to be implemented in a competent and professional manner to ensure efficient operation of the site. Assist management to ensure all safety, quality, environmental checks/maintenance tasks are completed and recorded in a timely manner to comply with Company Policies/Permits and other relevant legislation. Education / Qualification Mechanical and General experience and/or training. City and Guilds in welding and fabrication. City and Guilds in mechanical engineering. Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
