What you need to know:
Anemoi Renewable Energy are seeking a highly skilled GIS analyst who will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of onshore wind energy projects by leveraging geospatial data and tools. This role involves analysing and visualising spatial data to identify viable project sites, optimise wind turbine layouts, and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the development team, engineers, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality geospatial insights that drive decision-making and project success. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Identifying and evaluating potential sites for onshore wind energy opportunities.
* Utilising DNO heatmap data to identify grid viability for project success.
* Write clear, concise, and reliable reports based on the research completed through the GIS software.
* Collate, organise, and maintain geospatial data pertaining to land ownership, land use, environmental constraints, and project data, ensuring alignment with internal development standards.
* Creating high-quality maps to support site identification, feasibility studies, land leases and external consultant activities.
* Work closely with project managers and third-party consultants to integrate the GIS data into all aspects of the project lifecycle.
* Utilise GIS software (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online) and other data analysis tools for geospatial analysis, visualisation and collaboration.
* Manage a digital library by extracting and organising physical map data (e.g. georeferencing).
* Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of GIS data by upholding high-quality standards and aligning with both internal guidelines and UK industry best practices.
* Train and mentor junior GIS Analysts.
Key Skills & Capabilities:
* Proficient in GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
* Experience with ArcGIS Online for web mapping, app building, dashboard creation and sharing data across teams and stakeholders.
* Skilled in high-quality cartographic outputs.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences, while building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Critical thinker and a problem solver, with strong ability to analyse large and complex datasets, identify patterns, and extract insights to inform project planning and decision-making.
* Ability to work and maintain high standards in geospatial data accuracy and reporting.
* High level of organisational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work under pressure to address project risks with suitable mitigation measures to drive project success.
* A motivated and enthusiastic character, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to display determination, drive and motivation to learn new skills and continued development.
Experience: Experience working on utility-scale energy project within a developer/consultancy environment would be a strong advantage.
