We are seeking a Registered Adult Nurse to join our innovative and enthusiastic team on a permanent basis at our Chichester campus. This role will contribute to the development of nursing skills, supporting simulated learning practice and work-related learning. Lecturers will teach as a member of the teaching team in a developing capacity within an established programme of study and/or across developing areas, with the assistance of a mentor and/or senior colleague if required. The role will involve teaching, quality assurance compliance, partnership working, research and income generation in the School as well as engaging in the curriculum planning, design and leadership of teaching and research activity across all courses.
Main duties of the job
You will have the knowledge, experience and skills to enablecontemporary contribution to the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme. You willneed to be an NMC registrant in good standing asRegistered Nurse Adult, havedemonstrablecontemporaryclinical knowledge required for Nursing Adults in a range of care settings, a HE teaching qualification (Associate Fellow orFellow) OR willingness to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Learningand Teaching in Higher Education/Academic Professional within an agreedtimeframe together and demonstrableevidence of delivering teaching,learning and assessment.
The successful candidate will need to be motivated, proactive and engagewith collaborative working both as a team and with wider partners. Function of the Post:
This role will broadly contribute to the development of nursing skills, supporting simulated learning practice and work-related learning. Lecturers will teach as a member of the teaching team in a developing capacity within an established programme of study and/or across developing areas, with the assistance of a mentor and/or senior colleague if required. As a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Allied Health the post holder will contribute to the teaching within the School related to Nursing, teaching, quality assurance compliance, partnership working, research and income generation in the School associated with our Pre-Registration Nursing courses. They will engage in the curriculum planning, design and leadership of teaching and research activity associated with this.
Principal Accountabilities:
As a Lecturer in the department of School of Nursing and Allied Health, the working year will be divided between teaching, teaching-related administration, assessment and research in such proportions as may be decided by the Head of Department/Director of Institute, after appropriate consultation, in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Academic staff.
Learning and Teaching
4. Be responsible for the delivery of teaching material - deliver either across a range of modules within a subject area as well as other developing areas within the department.
5. Contribute to curriculum development in the context of pre-registration Nursing
6. Design teaching materials and delivery across modules associated with Nursing the Adult patient.
7. Deliver lectures and/or seminar groups using appropriate teaching methods, helping to identify areas where current provision needs revision or improvement.
8. Transfer knowledge in the form of practical skills, methods and techniques.
9. Support and liaise with clinical practice partners in supporting student work-related learning
10. Becoming an Academic Assessor in line with the NMC standards.
11. Transfer knowledge in the form of practical skills, methods and techniques and engage with the Simulated Based Education developments.
12. Engage in supporting student learning in the work environment
13. Assist with the development of the design and delivery of modules and assessment methods, working closely with colleagues on the implementation of assessment procedures, participating in the examination/assessment process.
14. Set, mark and assess work and examinations and provide effective and timely feedback to students.
15. Assist with the supervision of students projects, fieldwork and placements.
16. Use time outside of teaching hours to prepare well-constructed, varied teaching sessions, ensuring that content, methods of delivery and learning materials will meet the defined learning outcomes.
17. Seek ways of improving performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback.
18. Provide timely, constructive, formative and comprehensive feedback to students using all forms of communication/media.

54. A minimum of a Bachelors (Hons) Degree in Nursing or related degree, ideally 2:1.
55. NMC registrant in good standing on the RN (Adult)/RGN part of the Register.
56. HE teaching qualification or equivalent or willing to undertake one

57. Masters level qualification in related subject to Nursing/Education/Health (or working towards)
58. Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
