Salary: Up to £99,831, with a market supplement possible for exceptional candidates.

This vital role will oversee exceptional strategic communications and policy activity, advising and supporting elected members, senior managers, and colleagues across the council. Under your guidance, we will develop a compelling shared narrative and ensure we have the resources to engage and influence diverse audiences.
This senior role is integral to our longer-term policy development and planning. You must relish the opportunity to operate at the highest level, including occasionally deputising for the COO.
We are looking for candidates with an exceptional track record, a wealth of ideas, and the respect of their peers. Experience in crisis management and a strong professional repertoire (writing, planning, delivery) are essential. Strong candidates will hold a relevant professional qualification or membership. You should be highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, driving a confident and inclusive story of Sheffield.
