Make every drop of your potential count. Join our team!
At Anglian Water, we are working to meet tomorrow's challenges today by planning and delivering significant infrastructure for our region to address future challenges such as securing water supply for future generations, reaching net zero, adapting to climate change, and protecting and enhancing our region for generations to come. To ensure we meet these challenges, we are planning our largest transformational investment to date, proposing the design, build, finance, and operation of two new multi-billion-pound water reservoir developments: the Fens Reservoir and the Lincolnshire Reservoir.
Effective stakeholder engagement is critical to the development of the Fens and Lincolnshire Reservoirs Projects. The approach to stakeholder engagement has been defined within the Lincolnshire and Fens Reservoirs Stakeholder Engagement Framework, ensuring effective engagement and compliance with the Planning Act 2008 to deliver a compliant and successful pre-application and DCO application that is accepted for Examination.
The Framework places significant responsibility on the Stakeholder Team to manage engagement with prescribed consultees, statutory undertakers, and additional non-prescribed consultees who have an interest in the project. The Relationship Lead is responsible for overseeing the Project Team's day-to-day engagement with these stakeholders, which may include the Environment Agency, Natural England, Local Authorities, and Parish Councils.
The Relationship Lead will prepare and maintain a forward-looking Stakeholder Engagement Plan for each stakeholder and organize the day-to-day engagements identified within that plan. This will require collaboration with the technical teams (e.g., the Environment and Design Teams) and an administrator to ensure meetings are arranged in a timely and effective manner, and that the outputs and feedback from the meetings are actioned and recorded. The Relationship Lead will oversee the issues and risk logs to ensure they are escalated to the Project Team and addressed through effective stakeholder management.
The Major Infrastructure Relationship Lead will have experience working on major infrastructure or Town and Country Planning projects, possessing knowledge of planning application processes. You will have strong stakeholder engagement, management, and facilitation skills, as well as the experience required to represent the team on project matters. You must be confident in engaging with the senior project team and stakeholders to enable escalation and progression of issues.
What you'll be doing:
* Being the owner of individual stakeholder relationships (portfolio to be agreed)
* Ensuring stakeholder pre-meeting and meetings are arranged and recorded, and issues and actions aligned to programme needs
* In line with the Stakeholder Framework, ensure that agendas and pre-reading materials are prepared in advance, working with the meeting Chair where necessary
* Proactively work with the Project Team, particularly the lead of the individual workstreams and the Stakeholder Lead, to establish the short, medium, and long-term need for engagement
* Attend meetings, where required, with stakeholders and represent the Project Team on project matters (involving other members of the Project Team as needed)
* Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and opportunities that arise during stakeholder engagement
As a valued employee, you'll be entitled to:
* Competitive pension scheme - Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%
* Personal private health care
* Annual bonus scheme
* 26 days leave, rising with service + Bank Holidays, with the option to swap Christmas and Easter holidays for those celebrated by your religion
What does it take to be successful?
* Essential to have experience in major infrastructure projects or Town and Country Planning
* Proven experience and track record of successful proactive and reactive stakeholder engagement, either consultancy or in-house
* Experience of engagement programmes for Major Infrastructure projects
* Water industry experience is desirable
* Experience of working in a high-pressure environment
* There is an expectation that the role will involve travel to meet stakeholders; therefore, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
