Job Summary
The post holder is responsible for managing the company finance team, including payroll. They will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring timely delivery within deadlines. The role involves managing profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow, providing variance analysis to senior management. The post holder will also ensure efficient management of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll functions, and collaborate with operational, HR, and senior management teams to stay updated on legislative changes impacting financial performance.
Responsibilities
1. Complete monthly financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow.
2. Maintain reconciliations of all financial ledgers, including bank accounts.
3. Prepare annual budgets and perform monthly variance analysis.
4. Ensure timely submission of pay-related information to HMRC and Group Pensions to ensure compliance and avoid penalties.
5. Submit other legislative reports, including VAT, on time.
6. Lead and direct the finance team, including Payroll.
7. Support operational staff with job costing and other financial needs.
8. Lead internal and external audits.
Qualifications

Experience
* At least 5 years’ experience in commercial accounting, preferably in manufacturing.
* Proven experience in budget preparation and variance analysis.
* Payroll processing experience.
* Experience with Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts.
* Confident in liaising with various stakeholders.
* Leadership skills with good people and performance management abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Skills and Knowledge
* Financial management with statutory reporting knowledge.
* Analytical mindset.
* Understanding of HMRC and legislative reporting requirements.
* Proficiency in MS Excel, including formulas and functions.
* Ability to manage confidential information efficiently.
Salary depends on experience.

Pay: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
