HR/Payroll Officer Full time 37 hrs per week, permanent Grade 5 salary range £29,093 - £32,654 Full time Permanent We are currently seeking to appoint to the permanent post of HR/Payroll Officer. Applications are invited from HR & Payroll Officers with experience who will join our team. Under the guidance of the HR & Payroll support Manager you will provide HR and Payroll support across City of Wolverhampton Council and its partners. This will include a range of duties which includes, but is not limited to, payroll, pensions, hr support, policies and procedures, new starters and leavers. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, responsible and highly organised person to join a very dynamic and busy environment as a HR & Payroll Officer. The successful candidate will have GSCE level or equivalent (including English and Maths) or recent extensive HR/Payroll/Pensions experience. Experience of working in a school’s environment would also be advantageous. You must be able: to interpret HR & Payroll information in order to make sound judgments and undertake relevant action in respect of HR & Payroll end to end processing. to carry out accurate payroll related calculations to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. to be responsible for a varied workload to use initiative and escalate work concerns in a proactive and timely manner. to be capable of interpreting work and tasks in order to deliver an effective and timely outcome. to demonstrate a positive attitude and professional customer service to all customers, stakeholders and members of the team. You should have strong IT and communication skills in order to deal with the variety of HR/Payroll/Pensions duties assigned to you. A good working knowledge of HR and Payroll systems is required, and you must be proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. word and excel.
