Main duties of the job The post-holder will work as part of the Midwifery Team, providing a high standard of individualised care in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period in the hospital setting.To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward Manager. Our programme for newly qualified midwives (NQM's) comes highly recommended and has attracted some fantastic candidates. You will be supported by our Learning and Development Team which includes a Practice Development Midwife; a team of Clinical Skills Facilitators; and a Fetal Monitoring Specialist Midwife, as well as a Professional Midwifery Advocate. In addition, all NQM's are allocated a Preceptor and a Team Leader. A bespoke Midwifery update week ensures an emphasis on a multidisciplinary team approach to training and facilitates our strong learning culture. Regular point of care multidisciplinary simulations are also embedded into our working day.
