Salary: £31,650 - £45,646
Our client is currently looking for a teacher to join our expanding team and work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to aid the smooth running of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new venture in a school that will grow with you. You will be a part of a Brand-New School setup. It is an opportunity for you to help shape the provision and develop the school to be the best that it can be.
Responsibilities:
* Be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning of all pupils who are assigned to the post holder, having responsibility for their progress, welfare, and outcomes.
* Supervise the work of any support staff assigned to work with the post holder’s pupils.
* Provide leadership across the school in a curriculum area, including:
o monitoring quality and standards
o contributing to school planning and self-evaluation
o providing professional support to other teachers and support staff
o advising the Head of Education on appropriate resources and materials
o leading appropriate professional development.
* Implement the aims of the school.
* Work to the school's values and ensure that values are embedded in everyday practice.
Please note that duties will vary, and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the school when required.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
* PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
* Working knowledge of special education needs including relevant curriculum and learning plans.
Skills:
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to coach and mentor LSAs, Teaching Assistants, etc.
* Ability to adapt teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal according to the audience.
* Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording, and reviewing students’ progress.
* Working knowledge of supporting pupils with ASD and those with complex communication and behavioral needs.
* Ability to identify and de-escalate emotional and behavioral issues.
* Good IT skills.
Experience:
* Knowledge and personal experience of special needs, disabilities, behavior management, and associated issues.
* Experience of working in an ASD/SLD environment would be desirable.
