Overview: This position provides test and evaluation technician support in a lab or aircraft production environment, working alongside production operations personnel.
Responsibilities:
* Fabricate and maintain instrumentation systems, including installing sensors and associated wiring on aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.
* Sensor types include strain gages, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, etc.
* Coordinate with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers.
* Interpret engineering drawings, perform surface prep, hand sanding, cleaning, and handle hazardous materials such as solvents, cleaners, adhesives, and sealants.
* Fabricate wires, perform electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, wire routing, continuity checks, labeling, and sealing.
* Troubleshoot electrical circuits and wiring.
* Plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
* Design systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
* Participate in test design and perform routine procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures, and test systems.
* Coordinate test requirements and assist in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
* Facilitate systems integration, fabrication, and modification; support system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
* Conduct routine tests, analyze data, and document results.
* Troubleshoot and recommend resolutions for basic laboratory and test-related problems.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or GED with 5+ years of related work experience. Associates degree with 3+ years of related work experience or Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of related work experience desired.
* Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or various electrical components and associated equipment.
* Experience installing aircraft modifications, including fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, or avionics boxes preferred.
* Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication highly desired.
Other Requirements:
* Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
* Work while standing, kneeling, or using stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or overhead support systems.
* Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard-toe shoes.
