An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Deputy Head of Estates (London Sites) to join the busy and vibrant London Estates Maintenance Department of West London NHS Trust.
Ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant estate for the Trust, its staff, patients, and visitors, fully in line with legislative requirements and guidance, the post holder will have operational responsibility for managing and delivering Estates Maintenance (Hard FM) services through a combination of in-house maintenance teams and contracted-out services.
The role requires specialist building services-related engineering skills, evidenced by higher-level operational estate knowledge and professional qualifications (refer to Job Description for details). The post holder will be required to carry out duties as a Responsible or Authorised Person in line with HTM on Building, Mechanical, and Electrical related services.
This post would be suitable for a highly experienced, motivated, and professional individual with a proven track record of working with engineering trades staff and contractors at various levels and with strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
The post holder will be directly responsible for the effective delivery of a comprehensive range of high-quality and cost-effective Estates Services, leading a team of in-house operational staff and responsible for the operational management of contractors, including implementation of mobilisation plans and health and safety management.
This site-based role will be integral to the Capital, Estates, and Facilities (CEF) Senior management Team (SMT) and will require close collaborative working with Trust-wide internal colleagues and external partners to provide quality-assured services. It will also ensure that all estate implications are considered as part of any service reconfiguration schemes and in the development of the longer-term estates strategy for the Trust.
Responsible for the development and establishment of a positive safety culture within the Estates Maintenance Department to ensure it meets its legal requirements in terms of Health, Safety, and Compliance.
Post holder will be required develop and maintain strong links with CSU teams at the operational level, and/or external clients, becoming the delegated "single point of contact" for Estates Services to facilitate good communication, effective working relationships, and gain a clear understanding of service needs/developments, providing advice and guidance on Estates-related issues.
