We are seeking an experienced and detail-orientated Housekeeping Leader to oversee the cleanliness, presentation and safety of the hospice, clinical and non-clinical areas.
You will lead by example and support the team with all housekeeping duties in the hospice. This will include planning rotas, allocating duties to team members, conducting routine checks, completing audits, scheduling deep cleaning to minimize the risk of infection outbreaks, and planning and overseeing cleaning routines.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities:
* Supervise and support the housekeeping team (including bank staff and volunteers), providing training, support, and appraisals.
* Plan and direct daily tasks, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas.
* Be responsible for organizing rotas ensuring cover for holidays and sickness.
* Monitor and maintain stock levels and supplies.
* Ensure compliance with infection control, COSHH, health and safety, and other regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with the maintenance operative to address repairs promptly.
* Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and staff creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
* Carry out cleaning audits.
