We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Design Manager based at our Maple Lodge office with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (DM), and your role will lead projects through their design phases for a portfolio of projects. Your goal is to ensure cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered in line with all stakeholder requirements, programme expectations, and in accordance with the project delivery process and engineering design procedures.
Key responsibilities:
1. Be committed to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying fully with relevant local specifications, codes, rules, regulations, requirements, and all relevant H&S legislation.
2. Ensure that H&S hazards are identified and managed, with all residual risks communicated effectively to stakeholders.
3. Lead the Design team in delivering their responsibilities, focusing on meeting customer requirements and project objectives.
4. Be accountable for expenditure, drive efficiency, and manage overall outturn costs for design by producing deliverables within resource hours and key deadlines.
5. Organize all elements of design, document in the Design Management Plan, and prepare monthly status update reports as needed.
6. Attend and contribute to relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.
7. Ensure technical solutions outperform on costs while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery.
8. Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages when required.
9. Ensure all technical work meets standards and specifications, following appropriate systems of work and quality assurance.
10. Contribute to achieving sustainability targets, especially by reducing embodied and operational Carbon Footprints.
11. Communicate and collaborate effectively with partner organizations, backgrounds, and disciplines, leveraging collective knowledge and experience.
12. Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally, representing the company professionally.
13. Promote the reputation of MWH / RSK in all client contacts.
14. Maintain a positive, solution-oriented work approach, offering open and honest feedback.
15. Undertake other duties, training, or hours of work as reasonably required within the role's responsibility level.
16. Present a professional and positive image of MWH Treatment and maintain constructive relationships.
17. Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
