We are currently working with our client to find an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team. Our client is a London living wage employer and hold a Gold Investor in People accreditation. This is a key role that will involve contributing to the delivery of project and professional services across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients, as well as supporting the company's growth into the commercial sector. The successful candidate will oversee a range of projects with values between £500,000 and £30,000,000, managing both pre- and post-contract stages. You will report directly to the Partner Quantity Surveyors and play a significant role in mentoring junior quantity surveyors within the team. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets Lead procurement processes and manage tendering procedures Work with JCT Suite of Contracts Carry out measurement in line with NRM2 standards Monitor project financial performance and report accordingly Conduct valuations and manage project risks Provide expert advice and updates on project cost control An in-depth knowledge and experience of these tasks will be essential for success in this role. Requirements of the Senior Quantity Surveyors Hold a Member status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), with a minimum of four years' post-graduate experience, or demonstrate extensive experience (10 years) in Quantity Surveying, with at least 4 years in a Senior QS capacity. Have hands-on experience managing projects within the public sector, with values ranging from £500,000 to £30,000,000. Be highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines. Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on client relationship management and high-quality service delivery. Approach problem-solving with a proactive mindset and see challenges through to resolution. Have solid IT skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with measurement software such as CostX would be an advantage. Demonstrate the ability to identify commercial opportunities for the future growth of the business. Have a background in managing and mentoring junior and graduate surveyors. Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
