Trainee Site Chemist
Salary: £23,000.00 per annum plus Veolia benefits

Programme Duration: 4 years

Training and development;
This is a fantastic opportunity for any sixth-form student who wants to achieve a Degree in Chemistry while gaining hands-on experience and earning money.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to embark on a four-year Diploma Course and/or a Bachelor's Degree with Open University, which will be fully funded by Veolia. This will include a weekly day release to study, a week in the Summer to attend the Open University Campus, and the full support and resources required to complete this qualification.
Full internal training will also be provided on various aspects of site operations, including health and safety, environmental protection, and waste regulations.
With many of our colleagues starting as trainees, you'll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout.
By the end of your traineeship, you'll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential.
What you'll be doing;
- List, package and label wastes chemicals at customer sites initially under supervision of a Chempac Chemist to begin with and then independently as training is carried out
- Assess drums and their contents at customer premises
- Collect wastes from customer sites and ensure the safe transportation of wastes by following road transport and special waste regulations and all company procedures. After passing internal training courses
- Pump, decant and re-drum rusty or leaking containers after suitable training
- Maintain adequate stock levels of routine supplies on allocated company vehicle
- Ensure good customer relations and obey customer site rules
- Responsibility to maintain company property to a good standard
- Swift return of all lists, receipts and transport paperwork with the minimum of delay
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the manager
- Complete degree course and other training as required by job role to become a fully independent Chempac Chemist
What we're looking for;
- A minimum of A-Level in Chemistry or equivalent.
- Full driver's licence
- Willingness to travel with occasional short stays away from home
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn
- Passion in chemistry and science
