Job Title: Engineering Manager - Software Development
Job Summary:
A leading aerospace client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the software development team within the Avionics group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, experience with DO-178, and knowledge of Aerospace industry processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a global team of professional engineers to develop software for new product development, legacy products, and test equipment.
* Organize and build talent within the Avionics team, create opportunities for growth, and develop best cost country (BCC) engineering capabilities.
* Improve software engineering efficiency through creative management, effective use of tools, and continuous improvement.
* Drive consistency across the organization using design standards, product documentation, and related material specifications.
* Assure product designs are competitive on a global basis regarding quality, reliability, and cost.
* Collaborate with Centres of Excellence, including Pune, India, for seamless product development, execution, and capability development.
* Implement robust design practices, promote analysis-first mindset, and establish digital processes aligned with Aerospace Group strategy.
* Maintain liaison with Operational Excellence to ensure high-quality manufacturing cost reductions.
* Establish contacts with Universities to develop advanced products and potential new hires.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Software and Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Advanced engineering degree or MBA preferred.
* 8-10 years of experience in the aerospace industry, including software development and verification for managerial positions.
* 4+ years of embedded software experience for software engineer positions.
Skills:
* Software development and verification experience.
* Familiarity with DO-178 and Embedded C.
* Aerospace industry processes and standards knowledge.
* AAR, Actuation, or Environmental systems and products familiarity.
* Leadership skills, portfolio management, customer strategies, and successful new product introduction experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
