An exciting opportunity has arisen within our licensing team at Uttlesford District Council. for two senior licensing and compliance officers, reporting directly to the Licensing and Compliance Manager. Post 1 will supervise the licensing processing team, offering them guidance and support, ensuring that licence applications are administered appropriately in accordance with the council’s policies and procedures. Post 2 will similarly supervise and support the enforcement team in its undertaking of proactive and reactive duties, ensuring compliance with legal requirements across all areas of licensing. You will also deputise for the licensing and compliance manager and the corresponding senior licensing and compliance colleague to ensure resilience within the team. You will having a broad knowledge of regulatory duties including that covering the licensing of hackney carriage/private hire, alcohol, entertainment and gambling licensing, charitable street and house to house collections and scrap metal. You will also assist in providing professional advice and guidance on licensing matters to senior management and elected members. You must have an organised approach to your workload and the ability to prioritise. You should be able to contribute to team working and inspire, support and motivate the members of your team in delivering an excellent standard of customer service. A working knowledge of Uniform licensing and document management software package would be a distinct advantage. Uttlesford District Council is a family friendly Council.
