Hays are currently working with a leading multinational construction and manufacturing company to recruit for an exciting Legal Counsel opportunity based in their Dublin offices.
Your new role
In your new role, as Legal Counsel, you will run the legal department in Ireland, working alongside the central legal team based in London, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic objectives and maximising returns. Reporting to both the CEO and Regional Legal Director, you'll navigate a diverse legal landscape, from corporate restructuring to M&A activities, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive legal support across corporate, commercial, competition, procurement, compliance, and construction areas.
* Manage corporate matters including restructuring, establishing new entities, and regulatory issues (permits, licences).
* Assist the Regional Legal Director with relevant activities.
* Draft and review company policies, procedures, and complex contracts.
* Offer bespoke legal advice and training to commercial teams, providing guidance and support for the wider company as necessary.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential Criteria:
* A qualified solicitor or equivalent (minimum 5 PQE) with demonstrable in-house/private practice experience.
* Self-starter.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience in construction or manufacturing sectors.
* Demonstration of continuous professional development.
* Demonstrable experience of either leading a team or working on individual projects.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous experience in insurance and/or procurement or a similar industry.
* French language reading, writing, and communication skills.
