Welsh Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Salary: £83.85 per day
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to join one for our partnering schools in Ammanford. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support young learners in a nurturing environment, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
As a Welsh Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to deliver lessons and assist students with their learning, with a focus on Welsh language development. You will provide one-to-one support for children who may require additional help, and work with small groups to improve literacy and numeracy skills in both English and Welsh.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the class teacher in delivering lessons to primary school students.
* Assist children in the classroom, both individually and in small groups.
* Help with Welsh language development, encouraging children to use Welsh in daily activities.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Support children with special educational needs (SEN) when required.
* Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe learning environment.
* Prepare classroom materials and assist with administrative tasks.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Fluent in Welsh (written and spoken) – Essential.
* Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting (preferred but not essential).
* Good understanding of the curriculum and teaching practices.
* A positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
