Northumberland County Council's Central FACT Team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to safeguarding children and providing high-quality support to families facing complex challenges.
About the Role:
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to:
Providing expert assessment and case management for families where there are concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children.
Conducting thorough assessments of families to determine the level of risk to children, understand the family's needs, and identify appropriate support and intervention strategies.
Working collaboratively with families, children, and other agencies to deliver effective and timely interventions.
Engaging with families, building trust and rapport to support positive change.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
Advocating for the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of families, identifying their needs and risks.
Develop and implement individualised care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
Work closely with families, children, and other agencies to deliver timely and appropriate interventions.
Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
Participate in multi-agency meetings and collaborative working groups.
Provide information, advice, and support to other professionals on safeguarding issues.
Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the team and service delivery.Key Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
Social Care England registration.
Updated DBS check.
Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in a child protection setting.
Experience working with families with complex needs and/or in a FACT team setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
