Chef – £15 p/h minimum plus holiday pay
Talent84 are looking for chefs to work in temporary, ongoing roles in and around the North East.
You will be working within some of our well-established clients who provide a very consistent product to a high standard each day. From contract catering to contemporary restaurants we have a wide range of clients to find a perfect fit for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Cook guests’ orders according to their preferences
2. Ensure food safety and make sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
3. Prioritise health and safety practices in the kitchen
4. Select choice ingredients that will give dishes the best flavour
5. Experiment to come up with new specialties that will draw diners into the restaurant
6. Coach the sous chef and other members of the kitchen staff, so they perform at their best
7. Determine how much food to order and maintain an appropriate supply at the restaurant
8. Keep up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experience
9. Work quickly and professionally during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
10. Occasionally take on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy
11. Take direction and work with the restaurant’s administrative team
12. Adapt food to customers’ needs ie: health needs, allergies.
