QHSE Manager
Location: Barrow-in-Furness,
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum + benefits
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Permanent)

We’re looking for a QHSE Manager to join a dynamic manufacturing business that designs, manufactures, and installs bespoke products for the nuclear and defence industries. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven leader to shape quality and safety processes in a critical industry setting.
About the Role
As the QHSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality and driving a culture of safety across the organisation. Your responsibilities will cover:
1. Quality Control: Oversee quality control processes, ensuring products meet specifications and customer requirements. You will handle NCR reporting, investigation, and resolution while tracking and managing the cost of quality.
2. Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), tailoring procedures and audit processes to be user-friendly and efficient, enabling company-wide adoption.
3. Health & Safety: Champion the business’s journey to ISO45001 accreditation. Link quality and safety improvements, fostering a proactive health & safety culture from the ground up.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a charismatic, positive approach and be able to effectively influence diverse stakeholders across the business. Key qualities include:
1. Experience in Manufacturing: Ideally from a low-volume, high-value, complex manufacturing environment. Background in regulated industries such as nuclear or defence is highly desirable.
2. Leadership and Communication: Able to work alongside senior management, such as Operations, Engineering, and Project Management, as well as manage a small team in Quality.
3. Initiative and Resilience: Pragmatic and persistent, with a drive to see quality and safety improvements through to completion.
