Plant Area Manager, Full Time – permanent
Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Are you a passionate horticulturist with a flair for customer service? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant Area Manager to join our esteemed and independent garden centre in Inverness.
If you have extensive horticultural knowledge and purchasing experience, this full-time, permanent position could be your perfect next step. Please note that regular weekend work on a rotational basis will be required.
As the Plant Area Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and developing our thriving plant sales department. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Leading and managing a small team of dedicated staff
2. Driving plant quality and sales and supporting related initiatives
3. Providing face-to-face sales assistance and managing customer enquiries
4. Collaborating with suppliers to ensure well-stocked departments that meet customer demand
5. Maintaining high standards of presentation, merchandising, and pricing strategies

Key Qualifications:
1. Strong horticultural knowledge and experience
2. Proven supervisory or managerial experience in a garden centre or similar environment
3. Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a team
4. Energetic, creative, and positive attitude
5. Excellent customer engagement skills
6. Good physical fitness for working on your feet and handling heavy lifting
7. Strong IT and numeracy skills
8. Full UK driving licence
