Start date: January 2025 The School and Role Working in schools and alternative provisions teaching children aged 5 to 16 with special educational needs and disabilities. Opportunities for specialised subjects and general cover working on a supply basis. You will be part of a team who will engage the children in the absence of their teacher to ensure that they do not miss out on their education and the school or alternative provision runs smoothly. As a SEND Teacher you will work, day to day, short-term, long-term with the option for full and part-time positions. The specialist schools and provisions cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues and visual or hearing impairments. With brilliant facilities, resources and a staff team who pride themselves on their child-centred approach to raise engagement on daily basis. Most schools and provisions have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous. Requirements To be considered for the role of SEND Teacher you will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism – Ideally Maths and/or English. Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to: MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs. Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting. Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA’s Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
