About the role
Are you an exceptional leader with a passion for managing large-scale construction projects? Do you thrive on ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards? We are looking for a Works Manager (Black Hat) to join our dynamic team at Net Zero Teeside and take charge of delivering outstanding construction results in a cutting-edge, sustainable project environment.
This is your opportunity to lead a high-performance team while working at the forefront of major projects focused on net-zero solutions. If you're ready to step up and make a real impact in a project that matters, we want to hear from you.
As the Works Manager (Black Hat), you will take full responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the construction works, ensuring the successful, safe, and timely delivery of projects. Your leadership will drive the coordination of resources, the management of progress, and the implementation of key safety, quality, and environmental initiatives. This pivotal role is not only about executing the day-to-day tasks but also about shaping the long-term success of the project and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

From the initial planning stages through to project delivery, your organizational skills will be key in maintaining progress and meeting deadlines.
* Effective Communication: You’ll maintain strong, open lines of communication with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and statutory stakeholders. You’ll ensure that instructions, updates, and decisions are always clear, timely, and properly documented.
* Champion Quality and Continuous Improvement: We’re looking for someone who will not only meet expectations but exceed them. You’ll drive continuous improvement through rigorous quality control, embracing ‘Right First Time’ principles, and ensuring that the project meets or exceeds all quality targets.
* Manage Resources and Budgets: You’ll be responsible for the allocation and tracking of labour, plant, and materials, ensuring optimal use of resources and efficient project delivery. Your commercial acumen will be key to monitoring budgets and managing project risks.
* Client & Stakeholder Management: Maintain excellent working relationships with clients and external stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met and managing any issues that arise with professionalism and transparency.
* Proactive Problem Solver: You’ll anticipate potential challenges before they arise and manage risks to keep the project on track. Your experience will allow you to navigate complex construction environments and adapt strategies as needed.
