We are actively seeking an experienced Shift Manager within the Telford area on a straight to permanent basis.
Our prestigious client supply many major food producers and retail brands, as well as to wholesaler and distributor markets worldwide, including Central & Northern Europe, Asia, North & South America and Australia.

The ideal candidate will possess –
• Proven FMCG experience within Food Manufacturing ideally in a Shift Manager role.
• A strong character with excellent communication skills who can engage with their team to drive performance levels.
• Self-motivated and resilient with the ability to problem solve and make effective judgements, with a proactive rather than reactive approach and able to work cross functionally.
• Lean Manufacturing experience desirable, with a good level of numeracy & IT skills, SAP experience would also be an advantage
Key duties of the role include -
• Ensure all individuals, including engineering / contractors conform to health, safety and environmental legislation, policies and standards.
• Responsible for driving the team members to ensure that the Area performance is in-line
• Responsible for maintaining company and statutory hygiene standards and good housekeeping.
• Deliver manufacturing standards and performance KPIs efficiently and consistently
• Investigate process and quality issues, using problem-solving techniques, as they arise to understand the root cause and provide recommendations/solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Collaborate with other departments to support the delivery of the production plan against the budgeted targets and volumes ensuring achievement of standards in all areas
• Able to lead, motivate, coach others, delegating effectively to develop a sense of pride and ownership in team performance.
• Analyse performance information and ability to communicate confidently, clearly and concisely to team and senior managers
• People Management includes absence, conduct, performance, training & review periods.
• Identify, Coach and Mentor individuals with the potential to work at a higher level and put in place plans to assist their personal development.
