Job summary Band 8a - Advanced Pharmacist (IMHT East Staffs ) An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Pharmacist to work within the Integrated Mental Health Team in East Staffordshire covering Burton & Uttoxeter. This has been aligned to the new models of care outlined by the NHS Mental Health Implementation Plan 2019-2024 and the Community Mental Health Framework, which sets out the requirements to develop such innovative integrated models of primary mental health care. The role is a new and innovative project working directly within the community team. The role will focus on working within the service to ensure medicines optimisation and prescribing, under relevant legislation and guidance, are at the forefront practice. Main duties of the job To build close working relationships with stakeholders in the local primary care network and aligned pharmacy services To manage own caseload and time working with individuals with mental health disorders in a community setting To be a source of specialist advice and training in medicines for other healthcare professions, service users and carers in order to optimise pharmaceutical care. To develop and support clinical pharmacy audit and practice research within the field of mental health and specifically complex emotional needs. To undertake independent prescribing and medication consolidation as appropriate for individual patients. To participate in the evaluation of own services and establish key performance indicators to monitor patient outcomes and performance.
