MyMind CYPMHS in Wirral are working together with families and community services to improve mental health through accessible, inclusive, specialist care and support to increase children and young people's potential and life chances.
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic individual who is passionate about CYP mental health, with a demonstrable track record of CYP MH clinical experience. You will be a qualified Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner or Education Mental Health Practitioner (post-graduate certificate or above from a provider university as part of the CYP-IAPT programme).
The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in Wirral Schools. Mental Health Support Teams' main focus is:
1. To provide support and advice to school staff through consultation and training
2. To provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild-moderate mental health difficulties on a 1-1 or group basis
3. To support schools in their development of a Whole School Approach to Mental Health
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Wirral Mental Health Support Team (MHST), providing support to children and young people of primary and secondary school age across Wirral.
Band 5 EMHP/CYPWP will work with colleagues in MHST who align closely with the Children and Young People's Mental Health Services, education settings and professionals supporting children, young people and their families. The post involves working directly with schools, colleges and settings providing information, advice and guidance through consultation, direct work with children and young people and their families and delivering evidence-based interventions as well as supporting schools in developing and implementing a Whole School Approach to Mental Health. Post qualification experience is preferred.
This is a temporary full time position, 12 months maternity cover.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified Post Graduate Certificate or above from a provider university as part of the CYP-IAPT programme e.g. EMHP, CWP
* Professional registration with recognised National Body (BPS, BABCP) within 6 months of qualification.
* Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
* Demonstrates continued professional development within the mental health arena as evidenced by certificated course from recognised training bodies.
Knowledge and Expertise
* Knowledge of child psychology and development
* Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present
* Demonstrate an understanding of parenting and behaviour management interventions
* Demonstrates a knowledge of the impact of multisystemic issues such as home, school and community.
* Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding and other relevant legislation
* Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological and systemic therapies and how it relates to this post
Experience
* Experience of safeguarding vulnerable people
* Experience of multi-agency working
* Experience of working in a mental health and/or CYP setting
* Evidence of working in the local community
* Experience of routine outcome monitoring
