ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are searching for a Category Manager within Greif’s Global Supply Chain group, to develop selected strategic categories across EMEA, as part of a centralized strategy to coordinate and implement programs that drive consistency and leverage Greif’s buying power and scale. The role can be based near one of our EMEA locations and, particularly in the first 6-12 months, will require travel to our sites to learn about factories and build an internal network and relationships.

Reporting to Greif’s Senior Director of Sourcing, we are looking for someone who is comfortable challenging the status quo, driving change, and working with stakeholders to influence outcomes to improve Greif’s sourcing capabilities across the region.

TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Primary owner of the relationship with strategic suppliers for targeted scope of spend and regional responsibility.
2. Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers during formal sourcing engagements, mid-contract discussions, and spot opportunity evaluations.
3. Work cross-functionally with key business unit stakeholders to drive and execute sourcing strategies based on business requirements and market conditions.
4. Measure and track internal performance for responsible spend, including monthly and quarterly presentations of designated key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
5. Support the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, assist in evaluating and driving supplier performance or the qualification process of new suppliers.
6. Proactively communicate with suppliers to prevent and resolve quality issues.
7. Develop and implement ideas to reduce costs, optimize TCO, and improve performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrated significant category management and sourcing experience, through the seven steps principal.
* Experience with the commodity market is advantageous.
* Expertise in Excel for data analysis and report generation.
* Willingness to learn about our business and develop further.
* Ability to adapt to business changes quickly.
* Experience in change management to influence others.
