To work in the education team in Cheshire West and Chester Council. To be a contributing member of the operational management team within Special Educational Needs. To provide valuable management and leadership within the operational management team within the education service.
To be the Education Strategic Lead for all matters relating to the statutory processes and responsibilities of Suspension, Medical Needs, Fair Access Protocol and Alternative Provision. To promote the Inclusion agenda in all schools and settings.
To manage a team in order to deliver high quality service for vulnerable children suffering from long term illness, those at risk of permanent suspension from school and those who have been permanently suspended from school in line with legislation, government statutory guidance, council policy and good practice.
Responsibilities:
1. Experience of a variety of leadership strategies.
2. An understanding of data and its impact on performance.
3. Experience of managing staff including performance management.
4. A clear understanding of the national policy, guidance and LA statutory duties on Alternative Provision, suspension and provision for medical needs.
5. Experience of staff management.
6. Knowledge of national guidance and policy regarding Safeguarding, Child Protection and Information Sharing.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people including multi-agency partners and service users with vulnerabilities.
8. Ability to analyse and evaluate complex quantitative and qualitative data and report findings clearly and succinctly.
9. Experience of leading and motivating a team to deliver high quality services.
10. Experience of planning in order to deploy resources efficiently and effectively.
11. IT skills including experience of using presentation, database and spreadsheet software.
12. Ability to work collaboratively.
