Description This position is for a SEND Teaching Assistant 30/18 hours per commencing ASAP. Job Overview Devoran School is looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic TA to work with and support a SEN child on a 1:1 basis. This position will be for a total of 30 hours per week to include Lunchtime Supervisory hours. This role will commence from 1st January – or as soon after - and will be fixed term until 31/7/2025. We are looking for a team player who will complement our committed and vibrant team. Devoran School is situated on the outskirts of Truro set on wonderful grounds. Responsibilities • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging educational activities tailored to the needs of children. • Support children in their daily routines, including personal care, meal times, and playtime. • Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging participation and promoting social interactions among children. • Manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote respect and cooperation. • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised classroom environment conducive to learning. • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the nursery. Qualifications • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable. • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. • Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide and support children during activities. • A genuine passion for childcare and early childhood education, with an understanding of child development principles. • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm and positive attitude. • A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare would be an advantage but is not essential.
