Senior Project Manager
Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent
Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home
Salary range £55,000 to £65,000 pa plus benefits

This is an exciting time for UCEM and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the team to lead a diverse portfolio of projects and drive transformative efficiency. You will play an integral role in delivering impactful change across UCEM as we look to expand our academic offering and develop our research capability. You will foster strong relationships with senior management, ensuring effective project delivery and promoting seamless collaboration across departments. This is a brilliant opportunity to make a significant impact as UCEM continues to work towards its strategic priorities and enhance our project delivery framework.
Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:
1. Plan and oversee projects to deliver the strategic plan, providing mentoring and oversight for other project managers as well as management of your own projects
2. Demonstrate a high degree of leadership through the management of your projects, manage within a matrix project environment and influence a range of stakeholders
3. Develop business cases, define and evaluate project benefits, and ensure outcomes align with organisational goals and impact can be demonstrated
4. Build effective relationships with stakeholders and project sponsors to achieve project outcomes, ensuring excellent communications to support delivery
5. Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes, addressing challenges collaboratively
Our main requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
2. Certification in a recognized project management methodology (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, PMP etc.)
3. Extensive experience in leading and managing complex strategic and business improvement projects
4. Experience with developing business cases and delivering measurable project benefits
5. Organisational and prioritisation skills to manage diverse portfolios
6. Adaptability and resilience; able to work on varying projects and handle complex challenges in a fast-paced environment
