JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
SALARY: £90,440 - £106,400
LOCATION: Edinburgh or London
Hours: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: We adopt hybrid working style which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh or London office.
About this opportunity
Everyday Banking is a key platform for Lloyds Banking Group with a very broad reach across the Bank’s customer base and a diverse stakeholder group. The platform is responsible for the end-to-end journeys for personal current accounts and savings products to consumers and providing a market leading customer experience through the servicing of Debit and Credit cards through multiple channels.
As an iOS lead software engineer in the Digital Cards & Ways to Pay lab, you'll help transform our digital customer experience for card servicing while adopting the latest technology and agile ways of working to deliver iterative value at pace, delighting our customers and keeping our cards top of wallet.
What you’ll do
Work as part of a self-organised engineering team to design and develop software features or services that are delightful and vital in our mission to help Britain prosper.
Be a technical leader both within your team and outside, coaching and/or mentoring other engineers as appropriate.
Work with the product and engineering leads to achieve the vision and customer outcomes for your Lab, through designing solutions and writing well-factored and tested code.
Be curious about technology and understanding how things work. You'll influence positively demonstrating the right values and behaviours as we improve how we deliver.

What you’ll need:
Technical Leadership: Ability to take ownership of design and delivery, guiding junior engineers towards appropriate target architectures.
iOS Native Programming: Proficiency in Swift and familiarity with modern toolsets such as Git, Xcode, XCTest, XCUITest, and Jenkins.
Diverse Technical Experience: Proven track record of delivering high-quality applications at scale. Experience in improving the end-to-end application lifecycle through automation. Knowledge of security patterns and standard processes is a plus.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across engineering teams to enhance inner-sourcing opportunities and reduce waste.
Quality Advocacy: Commitment to quality, supporting the team by demonstrating approaches such as CI/CD best practices, Pair Programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
