Hays Technology is proud to be working in partnership with Stevenage Borough Council (SBC) who are looking to appoint an ICT Senior Infrastructure Technical Engineer to join their Shared ICT team.
SBC serves as the local authority for Stevenage, a vibrant town in Hertfordshire, England. Established in 1974, the council has been under Labour control since its inception, reflecting a commitment to community-focused governance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Advanced Technical Support: Provide expert-level support for complex IT issues that go beyond the capabilities of 1st and 2nd line support teams. Your troubleshooting skills will ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems.
2. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the development, management, and upgrades of core infrastructure, including Dell servers, Azure cloud hosting, and Microsoft 365 applications. Your expertise will help maintain a robust and secure IT environment.
3. End-User Computing: Manage the deployment of virtual desktop technologies and ensure seamless access to essential applications for all users.
4. Continuous Improvement: Conduct in-depth analyses to identify areas for improvement within our IT systems. Develop and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and reliability.
5. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-based articles. Conduct training sessions to empower other IT staff with your insights.
6. Project Participation: Collaborate in multidisciplinary project teams to deliver impactful business changes, including writing technical documents and evaluating tender submissions.
7. Customer Focus: Ensure that services are delivered in a responsive manner, actively seeking and acting upon customer feedback to enhance service delivery.
Who You Are:
1. Experienced: You have a comprehensive understanding of ICT core infrastructure, End-User Computing, and Microsoft 365, with a proven track record in a similar role.
2. Problem Solver: Your analytical skills enable you to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues efficiently.
3. Communicator: You can convey complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
4. Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Degree or equivalent experience in IT or a related field.
2. ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
3. Project Management qualification or relevant experience is desirable.
