We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Manager to join Suir Engineering Ltd. The position will be based in Burley on an EP&R project.

What you will be doing
The Civil Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering, working closely with site engineers and civils teams on demanding subjects, dealing with planning and councils, client interfaces, construction management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
1. Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resources, design review and budgets.
2. Coordinate and oversee all project phases, from pre-construction to project closeout.
3. Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and implement corrective actions as needed.
4. Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
5. Foster a collaborative working environment and ensure clear communication among all project stakeholders.
6. Resolve conflicts and issues that arise during the construction process.
7. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and within the approved limits.
8. Review and approve expenses, change orders, and invoices related to the project.
9. Conduct regular financial analysis to ensure profitability and cost efficiency.
10. Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
11. Provide regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Is this job for me?
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager in civil construction or a similar role.
3. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects or EP&R / HV projects.
4. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and safety standards.
5. Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and other relevant software applications.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience for work undertaken under NERS scheme (additional training provided).
9. Relevant H&S qualification, i.e. IOHS Managing Safely or similar.
10. Proven experience in managing a project from scoping out project(s)' requirements and resources in line with strategic company objectives to the completion and delivery of the project.
11. Experience in supporting a continuous improvement culture amongst the project team.
12. Awareness of BIM technologies where relevant.
13. Awareness of Engineering processes and best practice.
