We are looking for a Senior Buyer to support value delivery to the business through strategic procurement and execution of core P2P processes including cost reduction, supply chain resilience, risk mitigation, and ESG enablement.

You will be accountable for:
1. Category management: Learn and lead the EVRi 5-step category management process for IT spend areas. With direction from procurement leadership, accountable for delivery of cost reduction and cash flow benefits for IT spend areas. Develop and influence strategies to deliver improvements in Total Cost of Ownership, quality, service levels, ESG impact, CAPEX, cash flow, and budgeted cost savings within specific areas within IT. Build up subject matter expertise for specific categories of ownership – e.g. detailed knowledge of commercial models, supply market, and purchasing dynamics.
2. Analysis: Lead all critical commercial analysis for categories under management including detailed baseline development and validation with finance, RFP bid analysis, and recommendations/savings calculations. Communicate outputs of analysis and translate into what this means for the business or procurement requirements to make informed decisions.
3. Negotiation & Contracting: Work with procurement leadership to develop suitable negotiation strategies for key suppliers. Lead on contract negotiations and contract management for a range of EVRi Procurement activities with the support of Senior management. Apply EVRi standard contract terms and negotiate and implement contracts.
4. Contract management/supplier management: Monitor and manage in-contract performance of key suppliers for categories of responsibility. Work closely with finance to manage escalation of any in-contract cost variations. Provide a single point of escalation to the business for supplier performance.
5. Stakeholder management: Work closely with and influence senior managers and heads-of within the Business and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Manage stakeholders’ expectations in line with the procurement policy and contribute to the policy's continuous development.
6. Project management: With limited guidance, develop own workplans and timelines for savings or other improvement initiatives. Ensure high quality delivery of objectives within agreed upon timescales (including influencing stakeholders to support meeting key deadlines for contract approvals and savings delivery).
To be successful in this role you will require the following…
1. Degree Level in any related field is advantageous e.g. Supply Chain Management, STEM fields.
2. CIPS Level 2/3 (or working towards) advantageous.
3. 2-3 years as a Buyer or other commercial role preferable.
4. Strong Financial Awareness and experience of working within and influencing others to work within budgets and cash flow requirements.
5. Knowledge of commercial levers to influence procurement spend.
6. Track record as results-driven in a professional or operational environment.
7. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
8. Good interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Awareness of financial accounting principles for cash flow, savings recognition and OPEX/CAPEX.
10. Analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Office.
11. Experience within the logistics or retail industry would be advantageous.
