Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT) provides a full range of in-patient and out-patient mental health services across Kent & Medway operating across numerous sites. The Trust has a diverse property portfolio of around 68 sites with an approximate total GIA of 70,000sq. m spread across Kent and Medway, which provide 24-7 365-day patient services.
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) employs around 5700 staff made up of community nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians, podiatrists, dental staff, and many other health care professionals and corporate services. The Trust is one of the largest community health providers in England, serving a population of approximately 1.4 million people across Kent, East Sussex, and parts of London Boroughs.
About the Role:
As a Water Technician within our Maidstone branch, you will be working across NHS and mental health buildings. The main role will be to visit NHS sites and undertake tasks ensuring water compliance with all relevant Legionella legislation and regulations. Mears Kent FM Branch operates over two NHS Trusts - KCHFT & KMPT, and there will be a requirement to work in active ward settings including mental health wards.
* All aspects of compliant ACOP L8 4TH Edition 2013 Legionella monitoring regime, including Monthly Temperature monitoring of sentinel and representative outlets, Quarterly showerhead cleaning and descaling, cold water storage tank visual inspections, calorifier cleaning, inspection, and purging.
* Carry out basic building and system surveys in relation to water compliance.
* Carry out Potable water sampling for Legionella/TVC when applicable.
* Carry out cleaning and disinfection of cold-water storage tanks - training can be provided.
* Carry out servicing and maintenance of thermostatic mixing valves.
* Maintenance and recording of all data in site logbooks.
* Production of job reports and certificates.
* Production of simple line diagrams.
* Customer Liaison and feedback.
* To act at all times in accordance with Mears Group Policies, Processes and systems.
* Compliance with ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 at all times.
* Support and participate in the continuous improvement of the Water Hygiene function.
* To be willing to operate Mears IT systems.
Role Criteria:
* Experience of working to the latest industry standards.
* Familiar with domestic/commercial water systems, layout, and operation.
* Ability to use industry related tablet software.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Organised and logical approach to work, with a strong work ethic.
* Experience of working within a social housing/facilities management environment.
* Full UK driving license.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points.
