The Role:
As our Glasgow Depot Hire Controller, you will be the first point of contact for all customer enquiries, handling them through email, telephone, and face-to-face communication. Key responsibilities include:
1. Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries
2. Provide detailed product and service information, as well as expert advice
3. Resolve queries efficiently, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
4. Collaborate with various departments to ensure stock availability, timely deliveries, and collections
5. Continually develop your knowledge of our hire fleet and accessories, including transportation costs
6. Create quotations, process off-hires, and quality check purchase orders
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and potential customers
8. Proactively drive sales growth by conducting outgoing sales calls
9. Ensure accurate documentation and administration for hire, service, exchanges, and sales
10. Maintain and update customer data in our CMS system, HubSpot
11. Take ownership of the hire process from initial customer enquiry through to delivery and collection
Are you the right person for this role?
The successful candidate will have the following skills and/or experience:
1. Confident, ambitious, and customer-focused nature
2. Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within the hire desk or plant hire industry (preferred but not essential)
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
4. Highly organized with excellent time management skills
5. Ability to work well as part of a team
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
7. Eagerness to learn new skills and expand product knowledge
8. Motivated and seeking career progression opportunities
* A valid UK driving license is required for this role
