Job summary
Stowhealth is an established GP practice in Stowmarket, Suffolk and part of Suffolk Primary Care. We currently have two vacancies for part-time receptionists, each position is for between 15 to 20 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
1. Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
2. Gain a full understanding of our appointment booking system including the operation of AMGP (Ask My GP).
3. Greet patients at the reception desk and deal with their enquiries in a professionalmanner.
4. Instruct patients on the correct use of the Automatic Check in Machine.
5. Make, alter and update appointments for patients on the computer systems according to set protocols.
6. Assist with patients enquiries on the telephone in a professional manner.
7. Accurately extract and re-file patient records as and when require.
8. Handle telephone enquiries in a professional manner.
9. Provide holiday and sickness cover for reception team.
10. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of photocopying, managing tasks within clinical system.
11. Offer clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice.

23. Educated to GCSE level, English and Maths A-C or equivalent.
Experience

24. Previous reception experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
25. Experience of working in a GP practice desirable.
26. Experience of using SystmOne.

28. Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
29. Presentable with an amenable nature.
