The company is a renowned, established, and very successful manufacturer of FMCG products who are enjoying significant growth, success, and investment. They are seeking to recruit an electrical engineer to further strengthen their operations.
The main purpose of the role is to provide excellent electrical fault diagnosis and maintenance, maintain plant equipment to high standards, and provide a quick and effective breakdown and planned maintenance service in order to maximise productivity and minimise downtime, waste, and cost. Additionally, the role includes providing support to the Continuous Improvement Team and assisting in process improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Review production equipment performance and suggest productivity/process improvements.
2. Be involved with automation projects throughout the facility, linking existing machinery and plant.
3. Diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, and facilities on site.
4. Carry out electrical maintenance - both planned, preventative work and unscheduled, urgent electrical maintenance work.
5. Support and manage the electrical aspect of several installations at any time.
6. Rapid response to breakdowns on production equipment to minimise equipment failure downtime.
7. Identify and follow up on Continuous Improvement of machinery, investigating the root cause, reliability issues, and wastage.
8. Assess, identify, and provide electrical training for maintenance technicians.
9. Work to PM schedules and record/documentation of results.
10. Shift cover for maintenance, holidays, and sickness etc., may require flexibility with shift patterns.
As an electrical engineer, you will need to hold the following skills and experience:
1. Strong experience of working as an electrical or multi-skilled maintenance engineer.
2. Preferably have worked in an FMCG environment.
3. Hold a 17th or 18th edition electrical certificate.
4. Strong experience of panel building.
5. PLC experience - Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron to fault-finding level (not programming).
6. Happy to mentor when required.
7. Ideally apprentice trained.
8. Flexible to working hours.
Salary - dependent on experience.
Hours of work - 7am to 3pm / 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
