Business Development Manager (Materials Handling Solutions)
Location: Manchester - Remote (Can be based anywhere in the North / Midlands)
Salary: £50,000 - £52,000 (OTE £74,000 - £76,000) + Uncapped Commission + Employee Owned Tax Free Annual Bonus + Car Allowance + Excellent Technical Training
Are you a business development manager or similar, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and/or materials handling, seeking a truly autonomous role where you will be based remotely? In this role, you will manage your own diary and travel out to reputable clients across the North and Midlands, working with a true market leader which has set the standard in their industry.
You will have the opportunity to:
1. Partner with major global brands within automotive, aerospace, and similar industries, such as Aston Martin, Jaguar, Honeywell, and Mitsubishi.

The company is an employee-owned business serving manufacturing, distribution, and logistics across the UK and Europe. They are the most successful manufacturer in the UK of a diverse range of bespoke materials handling solutions. With the aim of increasing their turnover from £8m to £10m in the next few years, they are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to lead sales activities in the North and Midlands.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Plan your own diary, typically looking to visit new and existing clients 3-4 days a week with roughly a 60/40 split between account management and new business.
2. Work with the sales team to develop ongoing sales strategy.
3. Service Key Accounts, visiting these clients regularly to ensure their requirements are fully understood and the appropriate solutions are provided.
4. Showcase new products and services.
5. Develop new business relationships with potential clients.
6. Identify new markets for current and new solutions.
7. Oversee the activities of two technical sales engineers, often attending client meetings together.
8. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
The person:
1. Business Development Manager or similar.
2. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
3. Ideally experience with Materials Handling solutions.
4. Full Driving License.
5. Based anywhere in the North or Midlands, happy to travel throughout this area to visit clients.
