Job Description:
Job Title: Residential Support Worker
Location: Cannock
Hours: Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Salary: £12.25 per hour
Must be able to do sleep ins and must be a driver.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To act as a key worker to specific children and young people and offer them continuous support and guidance throughout their placement within residential care.
* To promote structure, boundaries, and domestic routines within the home, offering children and young people a safe and secure homely environment.
* Working in line with children and young people’s care and placement plans.
* Promoting positive outcomes for children and young people in areas of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic wellbeing.
* Working therapeutically with children and young people to promote resilience, emotional stability, and positive attachments with the adults supporting them.
* To support children and young people in line with the children’s home’s statement of purpose and Secure Base Model.
* To work in accordance with the Quality Standards and regulations for children’s homes and co-operate with any inspection process, being knowledgeable of the Quality Standards and how these are implemented in practice to promote positive outcomes.
* Provide a positive role model for the young people, presenting yourself in a highly professional manner. To be kind, approachable, understanding, and empathetic of all children and young people and the adverse experiences they may have been exposed to.
* Work in partnership with other agencies for the benefit of the young people, ensuring that a multi-agency approach is achieved within the residential setting.
* Participate in, and complete reports for, statutory reviews and meetings concerning the young people.
* Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the young people.
Other Requirements:
Level 3/4 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or be willing to work towards this within your role.
Full Driving Licence is preferred.
