We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Tenancy Support Officer on a 3-month temporary contract offering a negotiable hourly rate which will be made permanent.Principal Responsibilities: Assist in the take-up and continuous management of tenancies and accommodation Facilitate external support networks Maintain relevant information and provide details about IHL’s accommodation schemes Contribute to improvements in management and support services Ensure that services are available according to the tenants' needs Assist with the allocation of housing based on needs, including conducting interviews with applicants Provide ongoing support through home visits and regular progress reviews Support tenants in understanding their obligations under the tenancy agreement Address any breaches in tenancy agreements, collaborating with relevant officers to find solutions Ensure that all necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out in a timely manner Support tenants in accessing relevant benefits and ensuring recovery of rent and service charges Conduct home visits to assess tenancy management needs Support tenants in understanding their rights and responsibilities Assist with resolving antisocial behaviour and liaise with appropriate officers Review and monitor tenants' progress and provide necessary support Ensure the safety and security of accommodation, performing health and safety inspections when needed Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize void periods and improve accommodation quality Offer emotional and practical support, including access to healthcare, counselling, and other local services Ensure tenants' benefit claims are processed and assist with financial matters as required Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and improvement of housing services Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including lone working policies Act as a point of contact in emergencies, ensuring problems are reported and addressed in a timely manner Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with organisational procedures Person Specification: In-depth knowledge of housing issues and legislation, particularly concerning homelessness, refugees, and asylum seekers Experience in working with vulnerable or challenging adults in supported housing Familiarity with the welfare and benefits system Experience in report writing and working under pressure Ability to demonstrate a person-centred approach, particularly in working with refugees and vulnerable adults Strong team-working abilities and the ability to work independently Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive information Please note this role requires a full UK Driving Licence and an Enhanced DBS
