An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time Band 5 on our 20 bedded Petworth Ward, specialising in Respiratory Medicine at St Richards Hospital. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse, with the possession of both a strong clinical knowledge base and relevant skill set to maintain high standards of acute care to Level 2 patients. The post holder will provide nursing support on a mixed sexed ward to acute patients with a variety of different conditions relating to Respiratory.
We will offer development programme opportunities, supervision, reflective practice, mentoring and coaching and will ensure you are fully supported in your new role.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide high quality evidence based clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust values and in accordance with professional regulations.
2. Work with others to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of those in your care, their families and carers, and the wider community.
3. Work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines.
4. Act as a role model communicating in line with Trust values, to patients, carers and the staff at all.
5. Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the senior nurse in charge, recognising and working within the limits of your practice.
6. Take every opportunity to continue to maintain and develop your own practice.
7. Facilitate students and others to develop their competence through supervision, teaching and role.

Job responsibilities
1. Provide high quality evidence based clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust values and in accordance with professional regulations, delivering highest quality care to patients and have a good understanding of respiratory conditions and their treatments with previous experience of interventions such as Bi-Pap and Optiflow.
2. Work as part of the MDT, working alongside other team members such as physiotherapists to provide the best holistic patient care.
3. Act as a role model communicating in line with Trust values, to patients, carers and the staff at all.
4. Take responsibility for delegated patients and all care needs working alongside colleagues whilst also offering support to other team members when required.
5. Take every opportunity to continue to maintain and develop your own practice.
6. Facilitate students and others to develop their competence through supervision, teaching and role.

* Previous ward experience
* Previous respiratory experience
