About the Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a HSE Advisor to join our HSEQ team and play a critical role in improving HSE performance throughout the group.
The HSE Advisor will be responsible for partnering with the Industrial Biomass department at AMP and assisting with the development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of the health, safety and environment management system.
The role will involve:
* Assisting the Industrial Biomass operational and project teams with a range of HSE advice and support
* Developing, improving and maintaining the HSE Management System across the Industrial Biomass department
* Promoting good HSE practices throughout the business by educating people and supporting managers, whilst embedding a culture of pro-active risk management and health and safety throughout
* Developing trusted working relationships with key stakeholders is essential, as is improving the safety culture throughout all aspects of the business
* Attending and actively participating in risk assessments to identify, communicate, and reduce risk
* To provide, or where necessary source, training for staff in relation to HSE
* Conducting internal HSE audits across all Industrial Biomass sites and participating in external audits
* Undertaking accident and incident investigations
* Monitor safety daily through past and projected indicators and keep managers, supervisors and workforce informed
* Arrange and maintain HSE notices as appropriate
* Complete client HSE questionnaires and support client audits.
What we are looking for:
With a background of providing HSE support and guidance ideally within an industrial, manufacturing, or other high-risk environment, our successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:
* Occupational health and safety and/or environmental qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Certificate, IEMA Certificate)
* Full Driving Licence as this role will require travel to AMP sites across the UK
* Experience of environmental permitting e.g. waste management, emissions testing, EA inspections
* Extensive knowledge of health, safety and/or environmental legislation and a sound understanding of the HSE ISO standards e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001
* Experience facilitating/leading on gap assessment and developing project/improvement plans
* Demonstrable experience of conducting HSE audits and inspections
* Ability to use a wide range of techniques to influence change at all levels of the organisation and will possess a well-structured, systematic approach with the ability to identify and analyse complex technical issues and understand risks to provide appropriate solutions
* Experience using HSEQ management software i.e. Intelex, i-Auditor, Synergi
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Ability to demonstrate professional internal and external stakeholder management skills to drive business collaboration and build a high performing, commercially and customer focused safety culture
* Experience of delivering HSE training and initiatives (remotely or in person)
* Excellent communicator with a natural ability for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to be pragmatic, flexible and display a people centred approach.

Additional Information:
* Location: Site based; Stowmarket, Hull, Berwick, Central Belt Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling)
* Competitive salary to be discussed at interview
* Hours of work: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch)
* Contract Type: Permanent
* Full Driving Licence as this role will require regular travel to AMP sites across the UK
