My client is a Tier 2 Self Delivering, Civil Engineering contractor with a very healthy pipeline of works. They are currently operating at a turnover of £45M with plans to continue to expand this. They are very multi-disciplined within Construction & Civil Engineering, working on multi story car parks, bridge infrastructure, highways infrastructure, groundworks and rail infrastructure. The projects that they work on range in value from £700,000 - £8M. I have worked with them for two years and they continue to impress me with how they operate the business and how they constantly deliver for their clients.
About the opportunity

My client is currently recruiting for a Project Quantity Surveyor due to expansion and a healthy pipeline of work. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs across multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. You will be involved with the reviewing, evaluation and delivery of payments as well as developing client relationships. The projects that you will be involved in will include new multi-story car parks, major earthworks, bridges and highway schemes. These projects will mostly be around the £1M to £2M mark.
You will undertake general surveying of projects as required, which will include reviewing and pricing variations and preparing valuations for the respective Project Manager and Managing Quantity Surveyor. This role will be based out of an office in Kent so you will need to live within an hour of the office.

My client has a very low staff turnover and they’re looking to continue to offer long term stability for the candidate who joins them as a Project Quantity Surveyor. On top of long-term stability, they are offering up to £60,000 + £7,500 car allowance for the successful candidate. The package also includes a pension, healthcare and death in service which is 3 times your annual income.
About the requirements
It’s essential that you have UK experience working on infrastructure projects, covering drainage, piling, concrete works or earthworks. On top of this I need someone who has strong stability on their CV and between 5-7 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor. You will need to have excellent working knowledge of both NEC and JCT contracts as well as dealing with final accounts.
